  • My Review:

It’s been a drought for me to find a k-drama especially romocom that will make my heart skip like with DOTS. So, I tried this one as Seo Kang Joon is in it. Although, the last of his project “Are You Human too?” is not something I do like all the way, I wanted to give him another chance in his manner of choosing his projects. I guess, I expected too much. This is even worst than the last one he is in. I feel he’s maximising the opportunities laid down to him especially since most of the popular and stable k-drama actors are out of commission due to military service obligations. But, I believe this is the wrong way for him to do it. He can definitely act and a candy to look at but my gosh, the projects he chooses are either too shallow or too stupid in the delivery of the story.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

    (1) The development of the relationship between Ohn Joon Young and Lee Young Jae is a double-edge sword for me in terms of whether it works for my liking this k-drama. On one hand, there’s not much ceremony and unnecessary scenes on how they become together as a couple and appreciate the show of physical intimacy with not much frills but just naturally happens like in real life. However, on the other hand, I will mention why it also worked against the k-drama below.

    (2) Seo Kang Joon as Ohn Joon Young brought his beautiful self like his other projects. He is I guess the only reason why I was able to stay with this k-drama.

    (3) The OST is nice.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

    (1) As I’ve mentioned above, I do love that the relationship with the main leads didn’t need such a long ceremony to establish their love for each other, however, I find it odd for the character of Ohn Joon Young to be so much affected about what happened in the past with Lee Young Jae that he will totally change his life because of it. I know there are events on one’s life that totally changes who you are, these are defining moments we experienced as we grow to find ourselves, however, the defining moment established for Ohn Joon Young to go through was too shallow. He maybe insecure or a nerd and what he might have experienced with Lee Young Jae may affect him somehow but it seems like all the rest of his other experiences for the last 7 years afterwards are inconsequential that he’s still harbouring the past. I just don’t buy the causative factor of the premise.

    (2) As the story progresses it becomes a series of cliches in a bad romcom. There’s nothing new that this k-drama brings on the table and couldn’t care less what happens to the characters. It was like done without even an ounce of imagination to make a banal story at least uniquely and interesting on its own merits.

    (3) I don’t care much of the supporting leads. I find the story of Baek Joo Ran irritating and Choi Ho-Chul as the part of the love triangle of the leads too bland.

    (4) This is the first time in quite a long time that ended up fast forwarding the scenes and just reading the subtitles to just know what’s happening for just the sake of this review.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? No. Don’t waste your time in a nonsensical k-drama unless you are a die hard fan of Seo Kang Joon.
