My Review:

I watched this k-drama because I am fan of Son Ye Jin. Ever since I saw her film a long time ago, “The Classic” and “A Moment to Remember”, she became one of the few Korean actresses I truly adore and love the body of her work, so, how can I miss this?

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) The chemistry between Son Ye Jin as Yoon Jin Ah and Jung Hae In as Seo Joon Hee on this k-drama is like watching the chemistry between Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki in “Descendants of the Sun”. That’s why I got swept away with their love story besides their excellent acting performance.

(2) I love that this k-drama tackles the challenges of adult relationships and depicts situations in their relationships one can relate especially when the woman is much older than the guy with conflicts arising from their families.

(3) This is one of the very few k-dramas that truly show physical intimacies and normal reactions in situations between a man and a woman who loves each other. It is truly refreshing to see this kind of tastefully but realistic romantic relationship shown on TV especially in a highly conservative Korean society.

(4) It tackles sexual harassment in the work place which is currently very apt, not only in South Korea but all over the world right now. The flight of women protecting their rights as they are being trampled by some of those in positions are put into light and this is a good way to promote awareness. The entertainment industry has a powerful voice to show and influence society to certain relevant issues such as this. I applaud this k-drama for doing just that.

(5) Yoon Jin Ah maybe older than Seo Joon Hee but his mind is more mature than hers that’s why the relationship works. Age is only a number, it is the emotional quotient that’s more important in any relationship.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

I think that probably the style and mindset of the director on this K-Drama is to draw its audience into the flow of feelings wherein certain scenes plays the entire OST showing what the characters are going through like a music video and give flashbacks for more than a minute to allow the audience to be part of what the characters are thinking. However, there are moments that it feels that some of the scenes are dragging too much and done only to prolong the story. Partly this directorial style worked for me but to do it frequently in most episodes I get detached somewhere along the line.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes.
