Synopsis:

Cha Yo Han is a well renowned pain management doctor. He is known among his colleagues as a 10-seconds doctor as he can generally give tentative diagnosis to patients that quick even without medical devices and machines. He became infamous when he was convicted for euthanasia. He met Kang Shi Young, a 2nd year resident of the same specialization, in prison while Kang Shi Young is on her way to leave for Madagascar. They form a certain bond during that stint and by fate met again at the Seoul Hanse Medical Center. Cha Yo Han as the head of pain management department and she as resident. They discover each other’s secrets while together along the pain management team treat patients with rare and difficult medical cases.

My Review:

Ji Sung is one of those k-actors that has longevity as a leading man material and a steady career as an actor. He is one of those who were lucky enough to combine both successful career and family life. He also happens to be one k-actor that’s really great in his craft. So, how can I not watch Doctor John?

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) As usual Ji Sung has splendidly delivered his role on this k-drama. He was able to express well the journey of a doctor suffering the same way as his patients and often misunderstood by the society in regards to his real intentions.

(2) I always like medical k-drama that gives me new information of rare diseases that not everyone heard of like this congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis or CIPA. It makes one understand that health issues definitely affects ones way of life. I get to appreciate the blessing of feeling pain even if the feeling may connotes negativity, that pain like everything that we may think is not good may also provide value in our existence.

(3) Lee Se Young is a beautiful actress who can perform different roles and be defined by her talent to immerse on the character she plays. On this k-drama, she has bloomed as an actress.

(4) The supporting casts were able to enhance the story and didn’t come out as nuisance. Each have their own importance and majority provided more flavour to the story.

(5) Another K-Drama that has a lovely OST.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

Korean medical dramas are a dime in a dozen and, though, this entertaining to watch, its flow is almost similar to a lot of good Korean medical dramas. There’s really nothing different except for the condition of Doctor John as the twist of the story.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes
