The story is set in Amsterdam. It is about Hye-young, Park Yi and Jeong Woo. Hye-young is a beautiful artist who lives with her grandfather, manages their antique shop and a painter. She do quick portrait drawings at the middle of the plaza every weekends. Park Yi is a hired killer while Jeong Woo is an interpol cop. Their lives took a turn when Hye-young mistook Jeong Woo as the mysterious guy who’s been sending her daisy flowers everyday and the one who built a bridge for her near the meadows of their farm, so, she wouldn’t fall again in the stream. She was so touched by the gestures of this mysterious man that she’s been secretly waiting for him to finally reveal himself to her. And, on April 15 at 4:15 pm, she met Jeon Woo carrying a vase of daisy asking her to draw him. Jeon Woo was actually surveilling drug traffickers at that time. As Park Yi observes both of them over the window of his apartment that he rented to watch Hye-Young. Park Yi is actually the mysterious guy who’s been sending Hye-Young the daisies. He fell in love with her the first time he saw her in the farm. But, because of what he does, he didn’t want Hye-Young to get to know him. My Review:

I have seen this film in the year 2006 when it was released and for the purpose of reviewing it I’ve re-watched it again recently. I have a certain different feel on this film when I watched it on 2006 and now. I re-watched it on a director’s cut, so, it’s a bit longer than the actual release. Much more details are shown based on the standpoint of the three characters. I remember so vividly how impressed I was on this film when I first saw it on the year 2006. I remember some scenes of the movie that affected me especially the character of Park Yi and his love for Hye-Young. After I re-watched it this year, some of the impact of the film within me has lessened. I don’t know if it is because I watched a much slower pace of the director’s version of the film or it’s me that changed. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a splendid film but I’ve viewed it now at a different perspective as well. Unfortunately, I saw its flaws especially on the character of Hye-young. I feel that Hye-young loves to be in love and the idea of it but she really doesn’t know who she is in love with. Park Yi and Jeong Woo have more understanding of love and knows their hearts than the woman they are in love with. In hindsight, Daisy is not Hye-Young but the two men who truly loves her.

Would I recommend this K-Movie? Definitely Yes, of course. Even with its flaws it is still one of the best Korean romantic-action movie I’ve ever seen. I would recommend though that you watch it on the Korean version rather than the Director’s cut.
