My Review:

I watched this K-drama because of Ha Ji Won. She is one of my favorite K-drama actresses and truly like the type of characters she chose to play. It’s been awhile since she did a k-drama, however, this one and the last one she did, “Hospital Ship” in 2017 didn’t really deliver something that I expected for it to deliver. I was hoping this K-drama will be different, but, unfortunately, it was just okay for me.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) I like that the relationship between Moon Cha Young and her mother was not sugar coated. It is what it is, dysfunctional and hurtful. The writer didn’t make Cha Young’s mother to suddenly turn into a new leaf and stuck with the realistic view that there are people who don’t deserve to become a parent.

(2) I love the bromance between Lee Kang and Kwon Min Sung. Their friendship is something to be jealous of as their bond is even stronger than most siblings I know even mine. They are really there for each other especially during the times they really need someone, a friend.

(3) I like the mini stories of the guest characters who are dealing with their death. These actually touched me more than the story of the lead characters.

(4) Ha Ji Won looks younger and even more beautiful on this k-drama. She certainly brought life to the character of Moon Cha Young.

(5) The message of the story was loud and clear. The appreciation of the life that was given to us and seizing each day as if it is our last. Moon Tae Hyun’s character said it best – “Live As if today is your last day. And, as if you know that this moment will never return. Cherish every single moment that come by. The day you wasted today is the tomorrow that someone died yesterday so badly wished for.”

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

A bit slow in pacing and there are moments that I can do without a lot of flashbacks. It was like “Something in the Rain” pace that sometimes you wish they could have cut certain scenes. It was also slow to the point that the actual answers to your questions that could have made you appreciate more as to the “why’s” would have lessen your irritation to some scenes, like why did the grandmother worked too hard to force the issue of making Lee Kang and his Mom live with them when she will treat them like shit anyway or why Moon Cha Young’s brother is like that. I know that the answers to these questions were delayed to provide certain suspense and mystery to the story but for me this k-drama could have been done in 12 episodes and it would have been better.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Not Really. It was just okay and if you are a fan of Ha Ji Won, then, it will be passable, I think.
