My Review:

I watch this k-drama because it is becoming difficult to find good plots and stories that have substance and entertainment at the same time. Moon Geun Young is an actress that I watched in “Autumn in My Heart” and “My Little Bride” a long time ago when she was really young and I was curious if this one is something that I will like. I’m glad I did as overall it was a feel good romcom with action and drama that’s entertaining to watch.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) Moon Geun Young after “Autumn in My Heart” and “My Little Bride” has been into projects with genres that I don’t really like to watch, so, it’s the first time I’ve seen her in a long time on a project. I’m glad I did as this k-drama is exactly my cup of tea. She also delivered her character, Yoo Ryung, well, so I didn’t regret spending time watching it.

(2) I saw Kim Sun Ho in “Two Cops” k-drama but he didn’t really made an impression on me to the point that I will remember him. But, on this k-drama, he did. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed his performance and felt an impact on his presence especially when he is in the scene with his character mom. He’ very effective and I get emotional every time these scenes occur especially on Episode 15, that was heartrending.

(3) What I love in k-dramas is that even though it do show the evil side of human beings, they also try to show more the best of us as people. In a way, I got addicted to it precisely because it made me less cynical. The time I waste watching these kdramas kind of replenishes my dwindling belief in the goodness of human kind. It provided me hope that the reel can be real. So, seeing the real journey of Ko Ji Suk’s love for his mother and Yoo Ryung’s love for her twin sister with all its flaws made me feel better. Their love were well written as loving is not always easy especially when one feels totally alone in the battle of living.

(4) The supporting casts were great and I especially like the family atmosphere in the subway police team even if they are all just colleagues.

(5) The dynamics of feeling in the characters’ relationships with each other were brilliantly written that shows realistic emotions. This is seen not only in the relationships of Ji Suk’s love for his mother and Yoo Ryung’s love for her twin sister, but, also between Ha Ma-Ri and Ji Suk, Ha Ma-Ri and her mother and the way our colleagues or others tend to harshly judge us base on what they just perceive to be the truth rather than really understanding the probability of other possibilities as to the answer to the question of why.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

This k-drama is far from perfect as much as it shows real emotions of people as they go through certain difficulties and challenges, it has also failed to show certain real inconsequential stuff that would have been made them more believable. The most frustrating parts is that this could have been remedied as they are quite banal, but, do affect my pleasure such as the leads hardly take a shower, although, it sort of provided an explanation on Episode 16 for Yoo Ryung, the impact on the body of Ko Ji Suk when he fell on the scooter into the car and his fight with a prize fighter, the possibility of Kim Hee-Joon and his gang being able to freely access the tunnels without even one knowing it, Yoo Jin’s being on her own after she run away from Yoo Ryung considering she’s supposedly autistic at level 2, etc. The k-drama depicted real life feelings but it failed to depict real life capacity of human beings to live in actual conditions in their daily lives and difficulties.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes
