My Review:

So, What do I Like About this K-Movie?

This k-film is quite a surprise for me. Maybe the same surprise that Woo-Jin feels every time he wakes up and looks at himself in the mirror and see a different person.

I feel incredulous, confused, sad, happy and accepting of the story. I feel incredulous because the concept of Woo-Jin’s condition is quite unique. The imagination and conceptualization of the writer to think a condition like that and how it can be formed as a story that gels together is quite admirable.

Confuse because Woo-Jin can change by age, nationality, and even knowledge yet there’s not much explanation given on how the changes are defined that can provide even the very basic scientific logic? Such as how does he really transforms when he wakes up?

Sadness because there’s not much more explanation about the condition except that it seems to be hereditary and he only changes when he wakes up from sleep. Even if the story revolves more on the romantic relationship, the writer could have incorporated a much more plausible scientific premise and make it believable that the condition can do exist. He seems to be an alien if he can transform to another person irregardless of sex, size, age and genetic make-up.

Happiness because the story focus more on the love story rather than be fixated on what his condition is because I believe to explain it will make the film now be a total farce. So, it rather delve more on the challenges of how he and his partner can deal with the condition he has than what he has.

And, finally, acceptance of all the questions I have on my head while watching the film because the central theme of the story is really about Yi-Soo’s journey in loving Woo-Jin with that kind of unexplainable condition.

What I do Not Like About this K-Movie?

It was a great romantic film and I got really entertained by it but I wish the writer have made Woo-Jin’s condition as I’ve mentioned more plausible so he can still be considered scientifically a human being. The premise of his condition it seems just used to make the love story unique for uniqueness sake.

Would I recommend this K-Movie? Yes, just leave what you know about science out the door.
