My Review:

“Bad Guys, City of Evil” was the 2nd season of Bad Guys. Its premise is almost similar except for everything else. The characters are all new and the story is in no way a continuation of the 1st Season. Although, I love Bad Guys, hence, I decided to watch this, my feelings for this supposed 2nd season is just neutral. This is not even half way as great as the original one but it wasn’t as bad as one can expect either considering it followed the original one, which I consider a great action k-drama.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) I like that it is not afraid to show how vile and selfish most people are especially in power.

(2) The story is fast pace and it captures really the vileness of corruption in politics and those in power.

(3) The actors are great, although, I honestly, prefer the actors from Season 1. I kind of connected with those characters than this one, however, I do like the character and story line of Jang Sung-Cheol. His way of handling his situation and his love for his partner Ok Ja-Yeon and his team in the police force. He is not one dimensional and you kinda appreciate through him the sacrifices some of the dedicated police do for us to keep us safe. They end up not having any personal life and their job become their life. They are even willing to risk that to lock up bad guys to protect the public.

(4) What I’ve always like about Bad Guys both on Season 1 and 2 is that it allows us to see real people and not 2 dimensional black and white characters. The good guys don’t necessarily mean all good and the bad guys don’t necessarily mean totally bad. It shows human frailties and their actions are defined whether bad or good depending on its intent, which has always been my way of judging people when they did something I may not necessarily agree on.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

Bad Guys, City of Evil is not as good as Bad Guys Season 1. Maybe it has something to do with the actors playing the parts. This doesn’t mean the actors on Season 2 were bad, it’s just that I feel more connection on the characters and the actors playing them on Season 1. There are also times that there were too many fight scenes at a shorter timeline in between these fights happened that I become incredulous that they can all still walk let alone engage in another fight. These are not simply physically and humanly possible unless you are superman. All in all, as I’ve said I am neutral in this 2nd Season but I am not as totally impress to its story, characters and delivery as Season 1.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? It is okay especially if you like action.
