My Review:

I watched this k-drama because I’ve read a lot of good comments on blogs I read. I got curious especially since I’m familiar with L, whom I have watched in “Miss Hammurabi”. In the end, I’m glad I did as this k-drama is very romantic even if it did have flaws.

(1) The lead actors were terrific in portraying their roles. Shin Hye Sun as Lee Yun Seo even if I don’t find her, personally, typically pretty in my standard of k-actresses, has grown to be loveable in my eyes in the course of this k-drama. Her character is even bratty and unreasonable most of the time but she successfully merge her true inner self of being vulnerable that tries to be strong in the midst of her tragic experiences of losing the people she loves. While L brought forth in full force on the screen what a woman would like to have with her man, kind, gentle, can’t lie and will sacrifice everything for you because he loves you that much. They both successfully created a spark that an audience like me, who loves romcom truly enjoys to watch and make this kind of romantic love believable.

(2) The supporting casts were great especially Kim In Kwon as Hoo and Woo Hee Jin as Jung Yoo Mi. Both made their characters interesting to watch and fully provided support to the lead actors.

(3) Like majority of people, I don’t particularly enjoy watching ballet. I watched once a ballet and found myself sleeping. Probably, I’m sitting too far from the stage but still it is not my cup of tea. However, I’m glad that this k-drama provided an insight of how gruelling this form of art is for the performers. How much dedication and love for this art are needed for one to be great at it. Thus, it formed something in me the need to appreciate this form of art much better next time I get a chance to watch ballet.

(4) The premise of the story is nice and the way it was build-up from beginning till end. Also, truly appreciate that the physical intimacy especially the kisses between the leads are more passionate at the right moments.

(5) First time that I love every single OST. The music were soulful and beautiful.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

As I’ve mentioned from the intro, this k-drama is far from perfect. For me, the main flaw of this k-drama is the premise of what will happen to an angel when they fall in love with a human being. This is sometimes the danger when writers tend to make the resolution of the conflict they created in the first place with the characters to fit with what was expected in the conclusion and make it forcibly a happy ending. I, for one, of course, would like to have happy endings but, I still get frustrated when it’s forced and just shoves it to the audience’s throat to take it as is since the writer/s are giving them what they want in the first place even if there’s no sense of logic into it. On this case, what made Lee Yun Seo’s and Kim Dan’s love for each other that so special than the others before them that they got the exception to the rule?

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes
