My Review:

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

There is something to be said when the actors playing the characters have charisma to the audience and chemistry with their romantic partner in the story. It simply makes everything much interesting to watch and provide you elation when you see these actors on the screen playing their parts in the K-Drama. This what makes The Legend of the Blue Sea such a romantic thrill to watch and follow its episodes.

(1) Jun Ji-Hyun is one of my favorite Korean actress. Not only she’s totally gorgeous but such a great actress as well. She picks her projects well and can deliver a role with such effectivity that I can’t help but admire her. And, she’s done it again here at the Legend of the Blue Sea. She simply rocks and made the entire story of this K-Drama believable.

(2) Lee Min-Ho is a handsome actor and, though, I really don’t swoon over him, his delivery of his character here on this K-Drama is I think one of the best he has done so far in his career. I actually begin to love him because of this K-Drama.

(3) The chemistry between Lee Min-Ho and Jun Ji-Hyun is palpable even if we all know that in real life there’s not a chance that they can be together as Jun Ji-Hyun is married and Lee Min-Ho has a girlfriend. And, that’s when I know the actors are effective in doing their roles because you can still appreciate and root for the reel even if it is impossible to become real.

(4) I like the lightness of the story with a bit of suspense and action. It was meant to become a great romcom and I believe it became one. I simply can just savour the romanticism of it all without any guilt in wasting my time watching it.

(5) I love the OST especially “Why Would I Do This” and “Someday, Somewhere”. Simply beautiful music.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

There’s a certain time that there are some online comments about its story for being slow in development or that there’s not much happening on certain episodes, but, for me I really don’t mind as I am entertained while it was happening. The chemistry between Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji-Hyun are very good that it didn’t become an issue to me plus it does help they can act as well. It wasn’t cheesy because Jun Ji-Hyun’s character reflects innocence of how the world works, so, it helps not to make me feel antsy about the speed of the story development. This K-drama may not be the most perfect in all aspects but for entertainment value per se, this is a great romcom.

Would I recommend this K-Drama?
