My Review:
I hesitated to watch this film at first because I don’t like horror films per se. But, I need to be distracted for awhile and what’s the better way to do that than watch a horror film. True enough, it did distract me and even engross me so much that I forgot whatever it is that’s bothering me in my real life. In the end, it was effective as well as entertaining.
So, What do I Like About this K-Film?
(1) It is always good to see k-drama actors in k-films. They play characters that’s totally opposite from their norms in the small screen. Park Seo-Joon, whom I always see in romcoms plays a different role here. He was excellent in this film and did his role justice.
(2) I love the special effects. It is scary but not to the point that I will not like to be left alone in a room at night. It created a balance between suspense, horror and action.
(3) I like that it allows the audience to think about our questions when it comes to God especially when it seems like He doesn’t answer our fervent prayers. While watching it, I ended up thinking the same thing as Yong-Hoo. His questions to God are the same as mine. And, it really boils down to faith. It’s either you believe and trust Him or not. We are really free to choose.
(4) The fighting scene between Yong-Hoo and Ji-Shin was spectacular. It was properly choreographed and truly well executed. They were able to deliver a showdown well worth the wait.
(5) I like the story and as a whole it is something worth the money one would pay to watch in the cinema.
What I do Not Like About this K-Film?
There’s nothing much I can say that I didn’t like. Bottom line, I like it even if it is in the horror genre
Would I recommend this K-Film? Yes
