My Review:
I always find Ko Gyung-Pyo charming with a lot of promise to become big of a star if he gets the opportunity to highlight his talent as an actor. Private Lives isn’t what I expected when I started to watch it and I must say, this K-Drama was great surprise to watch.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) As mentioned Ko Gyung-Pyo chose the right K-Drama to showcase his acting chops and be able to take more roles as the lead character. He has successfully showed a man who became who he is because he thought his mentor and the organization he belongs is the family he never had. But, his character’s moral compass and individuality was able to save him from himself.
(2) Seohyun as Cha Joo-Eun fits her character to a “T”. She also has good chemistry with Ko Gyung-Po and their intimate scenes were just at the right tone for a mature type of K-Drama.
(3) Although the entire casts were all great, but, it is Tae Won-Seock as Han Son shined the most. I love his character especially on how he unselfishly love Cha Too-Eun
(4) There are so many twists and turns on this K-Drama that one has no time to get bored watching it.
(5) I love the pacing and movement of the story. It doesn’t waste too much time in non-sensical things and was able to still surprise me on certain occasions.
What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?
(1) As the names of the characters in Korean, when they flashbacks to explain what’s happening on every events regarding the cons or what actually happened, it’s initially difficult to follow.
(2) Although, it ended in trying to wrap things up in a big red bow, there’s something lacking on how it ended the case that became the main plot of the story like what happened to lawyer, Oh Hyun-Kyung or what is really the role of GK and this UI? Maybe something got lost in translation.
Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes
