My Review:

This is one of the k-dramas I watched because I got curious about the premise of the story. I have no idea what a “gumiho” means but it sounds interesting to watch. This is also the first time I watched Shi Min Ah and Lee Seung Ki. I didn’t know them from Adam at that time because I was just starting to watch korean dramas again after getting an overload of too much amnesia and dying 3 years back. I must say I was glad I did. It didn’t disappoint.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) Lee Seung Ki is one of the few popular korean actors that I don’t particularly find handsome. He is not the typical good looking guy in my book but he is indeed one great actor. His timing especially in comedy is spot on and he kinda successfully delivers cheesy lines and scenes without making me cringe. He is that good and he knows how to choose good scripts that I found myself watching most of his k-dramas. This k-drama is in fact the first k-drama I saw him in it and ended up not regretting it.

(2) Shi Min Ah was beautiful and innocent in this k-drama. She delivered her role to a T and her innocence as a guminho leaving in the midst of the worlds of human was thoroughly believable. And, though, Lee Seung Ki may not be handsome in my book, she and him was able to work a successful chemistry together in the screen that I rooted and care for their characters.

(3) This is one of the k-dramas that made me go back and watch k-dramas again. Because of the success of Stairway to Heaven, Winter Sonata, Autumn in My Heart to name a few, it seems during those years succeeding these classics there’s nothing more new to see except same old topics of amnesia, dying and some sort of illness. It got tiring with no new plots to speak of and I am glad that when I got back to watching it again, the korean entertainment started to evolve as well and this is one of its products that I believe are quite successful in giving the audience something different.

(4) Although, there’s a fantasy element, it was well written than it can become plausible. Also, it successfully been able to focus more on the relationship between Lee Seung Ki as Cha Dae Woong
and Shin Min Ah as gumiho but acting as human, Park Sun Joo.

(5) I love the OST.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

There’s really nothing much that I can say that’s flawed in this k-drama. Whatever one might say, I consider this k-drama as one of those that is perfectly done as it can be especially in a fantasy genre.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? YES, Definitely
