My Review:

I watched this k-drama because I like the lead actors and I was curious that it is similar to “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” when it comes to the topic of cosmetic surgery. But, that where the similarity ends. This k-drama is more melodramatic and mysterious in comparison to the My ID is Gangnam Beauty”. Both captured my interest when I started to watched the first few episodes. Different tone, angst and styles but both captivating to watch in the beginning.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) I enjoy that the directorial style of presenting the story of this k-drama draws the audience along with the mystery of what’s really going on. After 10 episodes, you still get to know bits and pieces of half-truths and makes your mind wonder the why’s. Very captivating as it keeps me guessing.

(2) The leads Nam Sang Mi as Ji Eun Han, Kim Jae Won as Han Kang Woo and Jo Hyun Jae as Kang Chan Ki are quite good in portraying their roles. Their characters are not 2 dimensional and each have their own issues and challenges to face.

(3) I sort of find satisfaction that Jung Soo Jin character got a taste of her own medicine. I must admit that Han Eun Jung’s portrayal of the character was so effective that I felt glee on what happened to her in the end.

(4) On the first few episodes the writer and the director were able to hold fort in maintaining the mystery of most of the characters and what’s really going on. They were able to prolong my interest to find out what’s the real deal.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

I can’t put a finger on it enough to describe it but there’s a feeling that was gnawing on me as the story progresses and though, it was truly interesting in first few episodes, there was a time I just can’t wait the k-drama to be over especially once all the mysteries got unfolded.

(1) Initially, I was enveloped with curiosity of what’s really the deal with Ji Eun Han and the mystery surrounding but somewhere in middle of the story, it kinda lost a bit of its track and the pace got slow, however, thank goodness it recovered on the episodes towards the ending.

(2) There are some supporting characters that didn’t much hold true in the end especially the mother of Ji Eun Han. She’s weak and most of the time I feel not necessary to be there as she doesn’t really do much to contribute to the story. It is better that Ji Eun Han has just have a surviving brother when she went missing.

(3) There’s also certain awkwardness between Nam Sang Mi as Ji Eun Han and Kim Jae Won as Han Kang Woo when the scenes call for physical intimacy. It looks so fake.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? It is okay.
