My Review:
For some reason after watching k-drama series of lukewarm romcom stories with big actors in it, I felt the need of watching something else that will make me feel certain excitement and what’s best to get that but to delve into the horror genre, which ironically something I don’t really enjoy before or even tend to avoid. That’s saying a lot on how mediocre the stories lately on k-dramas with my favorite actors in it.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) “Kingdom” is noticeably a big production that probably cost a lot considering that it is not only a period drama but a supernatural one. It shows well with the beauty of its cinematography and special effects.
(2) Although, I’m not into gore, the production has toned down the visualisation of it by blurring some of the parts that may make one pukes. I appreciate that consideration.
(3) The entire cast has done an excellent collaboration in delivering the story even without big name actors. In fact, big name actors in a k-dramas recently don’t necessarily mean it will have an exciting and good story from beginning to end.
(4) It provided a good premise and the pacing of the story is fast enough that one wouldn’t feel bored even a single second.
(5) On the entire cast, Jun Suk Ho as Jo Beom-Pal stands out for me because his character gave me much of the comic relief needed considering the tone of the story and its genre. He was truly amusing and did an excellent job on executing his character.
What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?
There’s nothing I can say I didn’t like about this k-drama except that it was cut after episode 6 and the audience needed to wait for the remaining supposedly season 2 for a certain period of time.
Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes.
