My Review:

There are some K-Dramas you watched because it is a great story and some you watched because you are fascinated with the actor/s featured in it. I watched this K-Drama because of Jo Jung-Suk, whom I adore in Oh My Ghost K-Drama. And, though, I don’t have much affinity to Gong Hyo-Jin as an actress, she seems to star in good K-dramas. Thus, I decided to give it a try even though the over all premise of the story of what it is all about doesn’t excite me much to be any different to other typical Korean dramas I have seen in regards to love triangles. I would like to say I was wrong but, unfortunately, that isn’t the case here. Besides the two leading men, Jo Jung-Suk and Go Kyung-Pyo, that makes me feel alive when they are on the screen, this was actually a boring one especially with certain side stories of the other characters. However, its brilliance is not in the story but the actors and actresses who did all their part to make it work and may retain the audiences’ interest to know its ending.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) Jo Jung-Suk showed here his prowess in acting. His character is a mixture of sorts that you can both hate and love at the same time. He totally nailed his character for a man women should avoid yet totally loves anyway.

(2) The most riveting scene that I felt a spark of emotion in me and can feel a raw emotion from a character is when Lee Hwa-Shin revealed his challenge dealing with breast cancer during his newscast. He expressed the challenges men do undergo when they discovered they have breast cancer. He was actually telling his own story and his own journey indirectly as he leads to his revelation and how the woman he loves made him realized that everything else are not that important except to be honest and be grateful for the love of the woman who has supported him all throughout his journey. It was fantastically executed and delivered by Jo Jung-Suk as he portrays the character of Lee Hwa-Shin.

(3) Go Kyung-Pyo is also a revelation as an actor here. You sympathized with him as well and I can’t help but feel Pyo Na-Ri’s confusion on who to choose between 2 great but flawed men with different personalities yet both endearing and lovable in their own unique ways.

(4) I must take my hats off to all the actors and actresses in this K-Drama. It could have been a total uninteresting and snooze fest K-Drama for me when it comes to the story but they were all so great that they successfully pulled it off to convince me to continue watching it.

(5) The OST are lovely and made me want to listen to it as it plays in the background on certain scenes. It adds to the depth of emotions that most of the time the story lacks.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

The 1st 4 episodes is a mixed feeling. There are scenes that are boring me to death and I’m having a difficult time to have the feeling of excitement to watch.

(1) How can a doctor deals with the main concern of her patient, who is a known news anchor, that requires total privacy and not make an effort to provide a single room? What kind of doctor has that kind of attitude in regards to patient’s care? So is the nurse’s? How can you have 2 main surgeries all at the same time?

(2) I’m irritated with a few characters that are not even amusing especially the personal assistant and driver of Go Jung-Won, who seems to meddle too much with Go Jung-Won’s personal affairs. There are characters who are totally useless in the scheme of things and a waste of time to watch.

(3) The first 6 episodes were a bit boring except for the chemistry between Gong Hyo-Jin as Pyo Na-Ri and Go Kyung-Pyo as Go Jung-Won.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Not really unless you are Jo Jung-Suk’s fan like me.
