My Review:
Due to CoVid-19, a lot of productions have been halted and it is very difficult to find a good K-Drama I have not watched lately. “Flower of Evil” fell into my life due to an interesting premise and Lee Joon Gi. The scarcity of good romcoms made me lean towards to suspense thriller genre because it is very rare that Korean entertainment produces a bad one when it comes to it. Glad I watched it because it was worth every minute of watching it including the waiting period week after week.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) Lee Joon-Gi is one of my favourite actors because he is really good at what he does and has immense talent, however, the past K-Dramas he was involved in like “Lawless Lawyer” and “Criminal Minds” weren’t at par from his previous works. Thus, I was kinda hesitant to check this out, it is a good thing I did, because not only he was so impressive in here but the story compliments his great talent.
(2) Moon Chae-Won as Cha Ji-Won immersed into an exceptional actress on this K-Drama. Her conflict on what to do with what she discovered about her husband’s past was a sight to behold in every episode but, more so on Episode 11. Her chemistry and scenes with Lee Joon-Gi totally worked to make this k-drama riveting to watch from the start to finish.
(3) I must give credit when credit is due to the writer, director and the entire production of this K-Drama because they created a suspense thriller worthy of its genre. There’s no sci-fi element or other gimmicks to make it unique, the script was just great and excellently executed by the director that delivers a consistent and solid story that’s worthy of every minute of 16 hours.
(4) The flow of the story was beautifully done and the ending was given justice without rush or forcing the issues that the characters need to be on a certain way to just make the audience happy and wrap it up with a perfect happy ending. This K-drama allowed the audience to see the conflicts within each vital characters to their transition and in trying to find themselves in aftermath that any person experiencing the same journey will probably normally go through. There are so many highlights on this K-drama that provided the actors to show their excellent talents and at the same time provide viewing pleasure to the audience.
(5) I love the OST.
