Cha Joo Hyuk is married to Seo Woo Jin with 2 children and works at KCU Bank as a loan officer. He wasn’t happy with both his work and married life. It wasn’t what he expected to be his life. He’s tired and his wife who used to be adorable is now turning into a monster in his eyes. His dissatisfaction became even prominent in his mind when he accidentally saw again his first love in college, Lee Hye Won. He begins to regret his decisions in his past and desperately wants to be out of his present. By happenstance, a derelict man in the train gave him 2 500 coins in 2006 as a thank you when he helped him. One of the coins he nonchalantly threw in a strange booth that allowed him to be back in the year 2006, the day he met his wife. My Review:

I watched this k-drama with a dose of neutrality because Ji Sung, although, a great actor sometimes get into projects that I didn’t particularly like but certainly popular to most audiences. However, this k-drama, I found that he is back in getting into a story that is relevant and certainly entertaining and interesting.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) Ji Sung as Cha Joo Hyuk has brought his A-game in this k-drama. He made the story work and has shown his talent to the fullest especially in his journey of finding himself and what he wants in his life. His conflicting emotions are very apparent and delivered with not much effort yet effective.

(2) The chemistry between Ji Sung as Cha Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min as Seo Woo Jin exists, thus, their love story becomes believable and something an audience will care about as to what will happen.

(3) Tackling a topic such as marriage with time element is ingenious. The director was able to provide more focus on the real issue at hand rather than the science fiction aspect. It was just used to create a conflict but it didn’t overwhelm the essence of the plot. It is really about the reality of marriage and how married couples should continue to make efforts to make it work.

(4) I enjoy that the drama continued to show what happens next after the main characters finally decided to be where they wanted to be. It wasn’t just a happily ever after story but a depiction of what lies ahead after such decisions to be together. We are accountable to what we do in our relationships and loving someone and making another person happy is not just by saying it but actually doing it.

(5) The story was successfully delivered without too much unnecessary scenes, the supporting characters were great especially Jang Seung Jo as Yoon Jong Hoo, and truly kudos to the writer and the director for tackling marriage and friendship in a real but entertaining manner.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

There’s really nothing I can negatively say about this k-drama as I have thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. It has essence and quirks that made it work along with good actors and actresses who effectively made it work to be believable amidst its fantasy aspect.

Would I recommend this K-Drama? Definitely Yes.
