My Review:
I have seen a few years ago and, actually re-watched it this year a K-Drama entitled Que Sera Sera starring also both Eric Moon and Jung Yoo Mi. And, just like that K-Drama, Discovery of Romance is of the same palette and realism. Although, this is in a much lighter tone than Que Sera Sera. Discovery of Romance is another one of the great reasons why K-Drama becomes such a guilty and addictive pleasure of mine. I’m beginning to love this romantic pair of actors because they seem to choose scripts that brings more realistic presentation of stories yet not too dark that its entertainment value is lost along the way. I, actually, can’t wait to get off work to watch it and will probably wouldn’t mind re-watching it again. There are so many great scenes that one can relate when oneself also experienced loving and losing that love. I must admit that I am lucky enough to be in good relations to all my exes and that my husband is secure enough to tolerate up to a certain extent that kind of friendships I keep. There’s this one though that I truly haven’t seen after breaking-up. I did love that man with all the innocence of youth and all the feelings first love can bring to ones life. Once in awhile I wonder if like most K-Dramas… just in case…by coincidence… I do get to see him again… What will I feel?… What will he feel? Well, hopefully, at least it will bring smile to our faces. Memories especially sweet ones are a treasure. It truly gives you warmth to survive such challenges that life brings you. As a whole, this is what this K-Drama brings to the table for the audience to feel. It makes you remember certain moments of your life and enables you to relate to the struggles of each characters. It is blended and delivered so well that you do feel the moment of the scenes, that the words they speak you can speak given the same situation. That it does provide a realistic definition of love. That there’s really no forever in love, somehow someday in someway it will end but this shouldn’t stop you from loving someone because what is important is loving and living now and not what it may probably be in the future, so, you can live your life with no regrets.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) It tackles the story in an adult manner. The dialogue and exchanges of the characters are quite realistic.
(2) Kang Tae Ha actually depicts most men. They really sometimes don’t have a clue how women think.
(3) Ha Jin’s Mother is quite delightful in how she speaks what life is all about. She actually reminds me of my Mom especially when Ha Jin has to pay her off with the expenses she incurred. My mom is like that. Whether fortunately or unfortunately, it taught me to be really independent.
(4) The fight scene between Kang Tae and Nam Ha Jin at the bar after competitively playing billiards. Very realistically done.
(5) Han Yeo Reum and Kang Tae’s meeting for the first time and Han Yeo Reum innocently expressed her feelings.
(6) Love the It’s All About You by Darelle London soundtrack.
What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?
There’s really nothing much I didn’t like. There are some moments that I am already feeling the angst of when will Han Yeo Reum finally choose between the two men but it wasn’t really such a big a deal because it is necessary to depict her process of which one will finally win her heart.
Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes and another Yes
