My Review:

I must be honest, Kwon Sang Woo is the main reason I became a K-addict. I love him before as an actor and I still love him now even if some of his fans abandoned him when he got married. I watched this K-Drama immediately after it was shown in Korea 10 years ago. I simply can’t miss his K-Drama. I re-watched it again for this review. And, even if I can’t totally remember the story, thus, the need for me to watch it again, I did remember one of its OST which resonates the tone of the entire drama. This K-Drama is not done perfectly, in fact, it has a lot of flaws especially in its execution. I will be the first one to tell you that I rate the K-dramas I reviewed not in its technical perfection but in its power to emotionally move me and entertain the pants out of me. So, even if it more or less achieved the latter with a modicum of success, for the former, it had glaring flaws. Generally, this K-Drama is flawed but still worth my time to waste on and still made me swoon for Kwon Sang Woo with additional bonus in the presence of another hunk who can act and enjoy, Kim Sung-Soo.

So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?

(1) Well, what can I say? I like this K-Drama because I get to see Kwon Sang Woo during the days when he was still choosing the quality of the story rather than just having a job. It is nice to see him in all of his glory both with shirt on and off.

(2) Kim Sung-Soo is one of those underrated actors whom I wished will have his own K-Drama. He is always the second fiddle. Enjoyed him as well in Full House. I believe he deserves to have that opportunity because not only he is soothing to the eyes and a worthy contender for the leading man but he can certainly act.

(3) I love the OST of this K-Drama. They are sad songs but it definitely makes me feel especially the song, “Yearning and Love is the Same” or “Parting Is Like Love” in English translation.

What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?

As I’ve mentioned, the one big flaw of this K-Drama is its technical aspects. It’s so glaring that it kinda hard to ignore even if Kwon Sang Woo can distract me to its flaws.

(1) Remembering the flow of a scene is flawed like on Episode 1, she dropped the necklace yet later she’s wearing it again and even got the chance to throw it in the river.

(2) In the ambulance in Episode 10, the medical team didn’t even tried to do a treatment while the patient is dying.

(3) Sometimes it’s quite tiring to watch the characters drowning their sorrows in the videoke bars.

(4) There’s no consistency of location and time line on scenes, such as seen on Episode 12 wherein one moment they are in the restaurant then the next, they are standing outside of a certain unknown place. And, it is so obvious that the shooting was done during winter time because the weather seems to not change in 5 years or even 1 year later.

(5) Don’t understand the reason why they can’t still be together after Episode 12, the father already died, her ex-lover already divorced with his half sister and the stepmom is not even close to him. Kang Yong-Ki isn’t even close to his stepmom and and half-sister to begin with. The reason/s why they can’t be together don’t really exist anymore except obviously just to prolong the story. More so, as the episodes progress. I just find it already illogic, and, the funny thing, they ended up being together anyways a year later with still the same circumstances except their jobs. Go figure!

Would I recommend this K-Drama?
