My Review:
I have watched this K-drama a long time ago, in fact, 15 years ago to be exact but, surprisingly, this is one of the k-dramas that I can still remember even after all those years. Maybe not all of the scenes that’s why there’s a need for me to watch it again for the sake of this review, and still, I felt the same way of liking the story as before. Probably because it is one of the few k-dramas at that time that has nothing to do with dying or amnesia which was typical during those times in K-dramas. Plus, the premise is quite modern considering one night stand topics were rarely dealt with in an ultra-conservative k-dramas during those years.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) This is the first time I’ve watched Jo Hyun Jae in a k-drama 15 years ago. And, he is quite good on this k-drama. I like him as an actor until now, however, for some reason, I don’t know why but sometimes I get confuse who’s who between him and Park Hae-Jin.
(2) I like the plot and the way it was done especially since at that time, a plot like that with a sexual undertone due to its taboo topic of having sex before getting married and more so a one night stand is quite controversial in Korea to be shown on TV. I feel this is one of the k-dramas that led towards the steps of the current k-dramas of being a bit more realistic of what’s really going on in real life.
(3) There’s chemistry between Han Chae Young as Cha Eun-Jae and Jo Hyun Jae as Han Yi-Joon even if I don’t really have a leaning towards Han Chae Young as an actress. She’s not a bad actress but I just don’t dig her.
(4) I like Cha Eun-Jae’s character here as a woman. She took responsibility of her own mistakes and reflects strength of being a strong and independent woman no matter what her situation is.
(5) I love the OST and the back drop of Italy. It is truly beautiful and it reminded me of my enjoyable trip there.
What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?
This k-drama is far from perfect even during those days but for some reason it has charmed me and truly enjoyed watching it even for the second time considering how long it has been. Its flaws are not enough for me to wipe out the entertainment value it brought me both before and even now.
Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes
