My Review:
It is a very rare occurrence that I will watch horror k-dramas or anything to do with spirits as I really dislike this genre, but, somehow, I was drawn to this and decided to try. From the very first episode it has relentlessly made me sit at the edge of my seat in suspense. It continuously retained that from start to finish and made me scared the hell out of my pants.
So, What do I Like About this K-Drama?
(1) I did not know the actor and actress who leads this k-drama, Kim Dong Wook and Jung Eun Chae, though, I’ve watched Kim Jae Wook before. I must say the chemistry among them works and they splendidly delivered their characters that made them believable.
(2) I like that the k-drama has no frivolous scenes and it consistently provided a full-packed suspense in every single episode. My only problem was I watched it while this is currently airing, so, I have to wait with abated breath for the following week on what will happen next.
(3) It doesn’t shrink in putting out there as to what can really happen if the story is real. Things happen the way it should happen and characters get hurt or die regardless of audience expectations of a hopeful and positive outcome.
(4) I have certain ghost stories I experienced and can share and that’s why I hate watching horror films as I don’t want to recollect those memories while watching on TV or in a cinema, however, this k-drama was able to successfully allow me to surpass this inner fear and just look and concentrate on the story itself. Yoon Hwa Pyung’s, Choi Yoon’s and Kang Kil Young’s back stories were quite sad in itself but their characters, though, are not perfect including the way they may live eminates such profound courage and determination to survive even at the worst situations gives the audience inspiration for hope and faith. The characters’ bravery and care to face their demons literally and figuratively to end further horrifying deaths and protect others were quite an uplifting emotion for me as the story progresses.
(5) The director and cinematography of the scenes are so well done that I can’t help but continue to watch no matter how much scary the scenes were. I was like a moth attracted to the flame.
What I do Not Like About this K-Drama?
There’s not much I can complain about this k-drama. I’m so much in fear and into deep with the story to look for the nitty-gritty flaws of how this k-drama was made. If there were errors, I feel they are inconsequential because I, for one, didn’t even notice whatever they maybe as whatever is happening distracts me enough to even give significance to them.
Would I recommend this K-Drama? Yes, one of the best horror and suspense k-drama I’ve seen.
